Catching up – from Middle of January 2016
The Marina at Compass Cay has a ton of fish – including Nurse Sharks that come up on the dock at low tide so you can pet them. They seemed quite cat like. Some would rub your leg and anothe one would pick its head up to let you know he’d like some more affection, please! They are the texture of very fine wet cement but their fins soft like skin.
In many anchorages people blow conch (pronounced conk) shells at sundown. Our friend Katharine does a great job with hers.
in other places people drum down the sun – so I got out my drum a and joined in the joyful noise!
our next stop was Staniel Cay.
we found a fisherman with lobsters to sell!
Staniel is famous for it’s swimming pigs.
“This big one stands there with his mouth open – like a garbage bin”
you’re going to have to be a little more specific about who you mean in this picture 😉
